Andes Multimedia was founded in 2016 from the vision of Ricardo Coronel Ruiz, a multimedia producer trained at Instituto RTVE in Madrid. He started the company as a small commercial photography studio focused on helping local businesses, professionals and entrepreneurs project a stronger image for their brands. The studio later expanded into corporate and commercial video production, eventually becoming a recognized name in hybrid events, professional streaming and live technical production for companies, institutions and congresses across Ecuador.

After a year of postponements caused by the pandemic, in August 2022 Quito hosted the World Congress of Primatology, a historic five-day event with more than five simultaneous rooms and thousands of participants connected from around the world.
The congress faced the challenge of returning under safe conditions. Biosecurity measures shaped every detail: social distancing inside the rooms, mandatory masks for attendees and technical staff, daily health checks and the constant uncertainty created by COVID.
It was also the first time this global scientific congress adopted a hybrid format. Thanks to Andes Multimedia, speakers could take part on site in Quito or connect remotely from anywhere, including field stations in remote rainforests. For the first time, the audience could attend either in person or virtually, multiplying the event’s reach.
Our team handled the full audiovisual and streaming production: speaker and attendee connectivity, screen management, audio capture, multi-source mixing, closed-circuit cameras, remote signals and multiplatform delivery. The success of the event was so strong that we were invited on stage to present the results live before the international scientific community.
The 2022 World Congress of Primatology was remarkable not only because of its scientific value, but also because of the innovation of its hybrid format. Andes Multimedia is proud to have been part of that milestone, proving that creativity and technology can overcome obstacles and connect people worldwide even in uncertain times.
