Our Story
Andes Multimedia was founded in 2016 by multimedia producer Ricardo Coronel Ruiz, who started the company as a small commercial
photography studio focused on helping local businesses, professionals, and entrepreneurs build a strong visual identity.
Over time, the studio expanded into corporate and commercial video production.
In 2018, Alexander Barriga, an administrator and finance specialist, joined the company as a production assistant.
Over the years, he became a partner and the head of operations in Ecuador.
In 2024, Andes Multimedia expanded its presence with a new base in Madrid, strengthening strategic alliances and consolidating
its international growth in hybrid audiovisual production for Spain and Europe.

What milestone defined Andes Multimedia’s trajectory?
After a year of postponements due to the pandemic, in August 2022 Quito hosted the World Congress of Primatology (IPS) —
a historic five-day event with over five simultaneous rooms and thousands of participants connected worldwide.
The congress faced the challenge of returning safely to in-person attendance. Biosecurity measures defined every detail:
social distancing in all rooms, mandatory mask use, daily health checks, and the ongoing uncertainty of COVID-19.
It was also the first time this global congress adopted a hybrid format. Thanks to Andes Multimedia, speakers could participate
in person from Quito or connect remotely from anywhere — even from field stations in remote rainforests.
The audience could attend in person or online, multiplying the event’s reach.
Our team handled all audiovisual and streaming production: connecting speakers and attendees, screen management,
sound capture, multi-source mixing, closed-circuit cameras, remote signals, and multi-platform streaming.
The event’s success led to an on-stage recognition by the international scientific community.
The 2022 World Congress of Primatology was not only remarkable for its scientific content but also for its innovative hybrid format.
Andes Multimedia is proud to have played a key role, proving that creativity and technology can overcome barriers and connect people globally,
even in uncertain times.*
* COVID changed the world — and with it, the entire events industry. Our hybrid event experience began in 2019,
but 2022 marked a turning point for global hybrid congresses.
